Make it a Memorable Day

Memorial Day is a special holiday where we remember and celebrate the brave people who dedicated their lives to serving our country. Remembering their lives and honoring their memory is an yearly event for the United States. Usually day is marked with parades, barbecues, and other celebrations. This year is most certainly no exception. Enrich your life this weekend with the Ninth Annual River City Festival of the Arts in Rowlesburg, WV. Starting this Friday the festival stretches out until Memorial Day on Monday the 30th. Enjoy continental breakfast every day at 10 AM at the River City Cafe. Really indulge on the arts and make sure to stop into the museums that will be open throughout the festival. The festival itself will kick off with an extraordinary performance of a Living History Portrayal of Benjamin Franklin at 1 PM. Don’t forget to stop and see a once in a lifetime musical performances from opera superstars Cristina Nassif, Jamie Kotmair, and Dr. Thomas Nassif. Later in the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to dance your socks off at the River City Festival Ball to music from the Classics. Then attend the big finale on Memorial Day which includes the remarkable 249th Army Band Jazz Combo. Entry is free and we’re positive you’ll be impressed. The festival is an hour away from Pierpont Place in Rowlesburg On Memorial Day itself, Harley Davidson is hosting its annual Memorial Day cookout. Eat lunch for a donation that will go to purchasing goodies that will be delivered to the VA Hospital in Clarksburg during the Sunday Funday Ride on June 14th.
