With the amount of snow Morgantown has gotten lately, you may have already spent some days snowed in at your home at Pierpont Place. While spending the day at home binge watching your favorite television shows is a great plan for a snow day, you may get tired of doing so the more days you spend inside this winter. If youre looking to spend your days a little more productively on days when the weather forces you to be a homebody, use these tips for some inspiration!
Try Something New
Productively doesnt just include work and school. A snow day is the perfect excuse to take the time to do something you have always wanted to learn. For example, maybe youve wanted to try your hand at some delicious recipes, but dont normally have the time for the preparation of a more intricate meal. Even if a recipe takes a couple hours, a snow day gives you all of the time in the world! You can put on some music while you chop and saute, or whatever else the recipe calls for.
Another idea is to craft. Check the Internet for instructions on how to do Origami. You can read up on some of the history of it and have an interesting new skill. Or, learn a new party trick by teaching yourself how to juggle. It will take practice, but your friends will be in awe when you show off your newfound talent.
Organize Your Digital World
Do you have a ton of pictures and files on your computer? You now have the time to go through them! Your computer is one of your most prized (and pricey) possessions, so treat it right! Delete any pictures and files that are obsolete and then get to organizing. Add folders and sort your documents to be as functional as possible. Next, use a flashdrive or external hard drive to backup your computer. When youre done, update your software to the latest version available so that your computer is in tip-top shape to do your school work and for your personal needs.
It is nice to have days off where you can lay in bed and catch up on your favorite shows, but sometimes you want to spend your day more productively. Trying something new or organizing your digital world can help you stay happy and productive. What do you like to do on snow days? Share with us the ways you stay productive on your days off!
